FAQ

TOURS

Can we come and see your facility?

Take a spin around our property with our drone tour!

While we’d love to meet you and ALL THE DOGS, we only do tours once we have confirmed availability for your dates. We don’t want to have you fall in love with the place and not be able to get in!

To check our availability please text or email us your dates or fill out this form.

Tours are by appointment only.

Don't forget to bring your dog!

Why does our dog have to come for an interview?
We want to meet your dog so we can see how they interact with us, other dogs and they can sniff out the cabin. It makes nervous dogs much more comfortable when they are familiar with us and where they will be staying.

How do we get there?
Our address does not always come up correctly in GPS. We are located off of Roosevelt Road, not Ohio River Blvd.

Be sure to turn from Roosevelt onto Toms Run, not O'Neill Lane.

195 Toms Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237

From Wexford:
Take I-79 South to the Mt. Nebo Road exit. Make a left onto Mt. Nebo Road. At the third light, make a right onto Roosevelt Road. Take the next right onto Toms Run Road. When the pavement stops, keep going. Just when you think there's no way someone lives down there, you will see Canine Cabins!

From Robinson:
Take I-79 North to the Mt. Nebo Road exit. Make a right onto Mt. Nebo Road. At the third light, make a right onto Roosevelt Road. Take the next right onto Toms Run Road. When the pavement stops, keep going.  Just when you think there's no way someone lives down there, you will see Canine Cabins!

From Avonworth Elementary School:
Make a right onto Roosevelt Road. Take the second left onto Toms Run. When the pavement stops, keep going.  Just when you think there's no way someone lives down there, you will see Canine Cabins!

RESERVATIONS

How do we make a reservation?
You can request a reservation by setting up an online account here. We will also need to set up an appointment to meet your dog if we haven’t already.

Can we cancel or change our reservation?
We understand that sometimes life is unexpected, and plans change, but the nature of our business makes it challenging to fill openings upon short notice.

There is no charge if you cancel more than 14 days before to your stay.

  • 14 days notice: $80

  • 7 days notice: $100

  • 24 hours notice: $250

Note: Credit card on file will be charged any necessary fees

In the event of a no-call/no-show, the full amount of your reservation will be charged.

What vaccines do you require?
All dogs must be vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella 10 days before boarding with us and must be free of any illness or disease that could potentially be harmful to our other guests. We request that you provide your dog's vet records at the time of booking. All dogs over 1 year old must be spayed or neutered.

Do we have to bring our own food?
Yes. Please provide food in an airtight container. It is not necessary to bag each meal. We hate wasting plastic!

Can I bring my dogs bedding and toys?

We do have elevated beds inside and out of each room, but you’re welcome to bring anything you trust your dog with at home - toys, beds, blankets, t-shirts etc. Please label items with your dogs name. Please no feather pillows! (Ask Julie about that one!)

Should my dog be treated for ticks?
We recommend a monthly tick control treatment before your dog’s stay.

What are your drop-off and pick-up times?
We allow drop-offs and pick-ups (by appointment only) during these hours. We recommend dropping as early in the day as possible so your dog can have a fun day of play!

8:30 - 10:00 am or 4:30 - 6:30 pm

RATES

What are the rates?
Our rates are all-inclusive, so we do not charge extra for playtime, treats, love and attention.

It’s $80 per night per dog, and $136 for two dogs sharing a suite. Your pick-up time is the same as your drop off and you will be charged $2 per hour per dog after that. For example, if you drop off at 8:30 am you must pick up by 8:30 am or it's $2 per hour, per dog until pick up.

Can our two dogs stay together?
Absolutely - that is why we made the rooms so big! Our large suites can easily accommodate even 3 golden retrievers! There’s plenty of room to walk around with beds and dishes inside. During the day they even have their own private patio to relax outside when they are not in the yard playing.

Can we call to check on our dog?
We post photos and videos on Facebook and Instagram each day (except Sunday), but you are also welcome to call or text anytime to ask about your dog. The videos on the “story” only last for 24 hours so be sure to check each day to watch your dog having just as much fun as you on vacation!

How many other dogs will be there?
We have sixteen suites and typically have between 10-20 dogs, depending on how many multi-dog families we have here.

Do you have cameras?

Our cameras are not customer facing and internal-use only for the safety of our dogs and staff.

What happens in case of medical issue while boarding?

Should your dog need to see a vet while boarding, we will reach out to you first and try to use your vet for any treatment. If your vet is not available and it’s something that could be treated virtually, we will use the Vetster app. In the case of an emergency we are so grateful to have Blue Pearl/PVSEC less than 3 miles away.
